Why would LeBron James scrub the ‘s’ in ‘Kings’? The answer is simple, but the internet still had jokes

LeBron James is a man of many talents, but Photoshop might not be his thing.

Earlier this week, the Lakers traveled to Sacramento to take on the Kings. James shared a pre-game photo on Instagram of himself shooting at the Golden 1 Center with the caption: β€œThe Man In The Arena – πŸ‘‘ πŸ“Έ captured @mikemancias1 in section.”

Nothing else to see, right? Not quite.

Zoom in closer and you’ll notice that instead of an ad at the top that says “Kings,” the “s” appears to have been erased.

Many were quick to notice.

Why would James do that? Probably because his nickname was King James for a long time, not, you know, Kings James, but the internet still had a lot of fun.

Some of the nicknames Reddit gave him:

  • Leditor
  • LePhotoshop
  • LePaint
  • Turn on the LeBeam

Twitter also had jokes:

In case you were wondering what happened in the actual game, James finished with 31 points and 11 assists, but the Anthony Davis-less Lakers lost by 14 points and fell to 13-18 on the season.

A hard look at the king.
